Bath Essentials
for head to toe freshness
Caring for your body creates beautiful
rewards. So, keep a selection of bath products on
hand to maintain your skin from head to toe on a daily
basis.
The time of the day and even the time
of year will affect what you like using, so why not
take the opportunity to try different products, adding
the ones you particularly like to those you already
know well.
Soaps and Cleansing
Bars
This is a both affordable and effective
way of cleansing your body daily. Most people can
use ordinary soaps and cleansing bars without any
problems.
However if you find that the ones you
are using are too drying, opt for ones that contain
moisturizers or other pH balanced varieties to minimize
the drying effect.
Shower Gels and
Bubble Baths
These
are mild detergents that help cleanse your body while
you soak in water. There are hundreds of varieties
to choose from, including those containing a host
of additives, ranging from herbs to essential oils.
They also come in 2-in-1 formulations
which contain moisturizers to help sooth and nourish
dry and sensitive skin.
Body Scrubs
They come in a variety of forms including,
sugar scrubs, salt scrubs, nut scrubs and more. Using
a body scrub is a quick easy way to exfoliate the
skin to combat dullness, spots and flaky patches.
They work by removing dead skin cells
from the surface of the body to reveal younger and
fresher cells that are hidden underneath. The process
also stimulates the circulation of blood in the skin
tissue, giving it a rosy glow.
Sponges and Wash
Clothes
These are useful for lathering up soaps
and gels on the body. They also play an active part
in exfoliating and dislodging dirt from the body.
Natural sponges which include loafers are a longer
lasting alternative to sponges made of synthetic material.
Bath Oils
These are a great addition for those
with dry skin. They float on the surface of the water
while you take your bath and cover the entire body
with a fine film of oil when you step out of the bath.
Many bath oils come containing fragrance but as an
alternative, you can use a few drops of any vegetable
oil such as olive or almond oil instead.
Bath Salts
Usually made from sodium carbonate,
these are particularly useful for softening hard water,
and for preventing your skin from becoming too dry.
Combined with warm water, they are a great way to
soothe away muscle ache and pain.
